Place du Tertre in Montmartre

I captured these scenes in Place du Tertre in Montmartre, Paris. This used to be the hotspot for both starving artists and improvised 20th century art legends, like Picasso and Van Gogh. Now this square is crammed full of portrait sketchers, caricaturist, painters all vying for your money and of course there are the ubiquitous tourists. Although Place du Tertre is a crowded commercial mecca for souvenirs of all types, and a popular pilgrimage stop for tourists, the narrow cobblestone streets, pretty views and little shops are still quite charming and arty. There's enough romantic history here to inspire the imagination.
