A Taste of Christmas

Mr Simms Sweet Shop
Shop windows are now festooned with garlands of tinsel and the streets are aglow with designer LED lights - must mean Christmas is around the corner. It certainly feels like Christmas these last couple days. Brrrr. I've had to pull out my parka! Later today, I'm heading over to Covent Garden to partake in cupcakes & coffee and play with the interactive kissmass tree they have up in the piazza. How exciting! One kiss will light up the tree! This I gotta see!

Happy Friday!

A Blessing

A blessing

While wandering through the wintry woods at dusk, I unexpectedly stumbled headlong into a pocket of trembling bliss & crawled into its midst boldly nestling there as completely & thoroughly as I would have had it been my own sweet burrow. There is no tomorrow here. There is only the ephemeral refuge of Now so I warm my hands by a hearth & my feet in down booties; I wrap my body tight in a rich robe much too big for me. Happiness is such shivering fire! I. breathe. in. deeply. this small blessing, a fleeting toke & oh how I line my pocket with its intoxicating smoke. You smell warm, like home.

Fall

Fall
Sometimes the world outside my window is so golden and beautiful, it hurts the darkness in my soul to look because it is so starkly incongruous with my own internal weather.
Fall
Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop and gaze at the flowers
drink in the crisp autumnal air
and fondle the fiery leaves before they are gone.
Fall
Then I remember that this symphony of blazing impermanence is a comfort. It reminds me that change is life's only constant and it is only in this moment that I am alive.

My photo's in a Guardian photo Gallery!

Woohoo! Sweet! I entered the Guardian's Been There Competition and made the cut so my photo has been featured in their gallery. The theme was Red so I sent them my most dramatic red photo. It feels good to see my work at the Guardian! I'm so pleased. la la la.
