Fall

Fall
Sometimes the world outside my window is so golden and beautiful, it hurts the darkness in my soul to look because it is so starkly incongruous with my own internal weather.
Fall
Sometimes I have to remind myself to stop and gaze at the flowers
drink in the crisp autumnal air
and fondle the fiery leaves before they are gone.
Fall
Then I remember that this symphony of blazing impermanence is a comfort. It reminds me that change is life's only constant and it is only in this moment that I am alive.
