Cold Chilies and Strange Weather

The day started out characteristically London gray but very quickly turned from light dusty flurries to a proper whiteout blizzard today between noon and 12:30pm. Fortunately the snow eased up by the time I ventured out into the snowy streets to meet a girlfriend for lunch. Hours later the clouds would part and the skies would wipe itself blue. The sun even came out for a visit and melted the snow just enough to make walking nice and slippery. Brrr. Looks like we're in for a chilly weekend so button up and play safe out there.

A kiss to light up a tree

Some may call it puro cheeso of the gag inducing variety. Others may roll their eyes and deem it mawkish and sentimental. But I find it a sweet interactive installation that gets us to make kisses, not disses, yo. The Kissmas Tree in Covent Garden is rigged up to harness the enormous power of 'a kiss under the mistletoe', send its electric current spiralling up the wires that festoon the large Christmas tree sitting in the piazza and spark it to life with twinkling lights. Ohh ahh. Pretty lights. I've always been a fan of the kiss under mistletoe and I'm happy to see it used here to light up the night. Definitely one of the Christmassy highlights in London this season. ho ho ho. Merry Kissmas.

Chilly in Chilham

I'm currently snowed-in in Chilham and it is chilly! I'm hanging out with a really lovely family and having pretty village/country walks in this winter wonderland. Our nights have been filled with food and wine by the cozy fire. Mmmm mmm.
